Mary's Peak Hound Club in Philomath, OR also has UKC hound and beagle events.

MPHC Event Schedule

In May, UKC was notified of the dissolution of  Washington State Coonhound Association and that all monies and properties had been transferred to Mary’s Peak Hound Club in Philomath, OR as per WSCA By-Laws.  MPHC and WSCA had been sister UKC clubs for years.  Their website is http://www.bayingbriars.com/

MPHC is experiencing a similar sad decline of participation and active members as WSCA had for years.  I continue to encourage Pacific Northwest houndsmen to actively participate in and volunteer your help to a hound club or more will fall to the wayside.   The links section has a list of clubs known to me, and this website will stay up through the end of 2011 in hopes if a person is looking to connect with a group, it may be of help.

Good luck and God Bless all of you.

The Mini-Slam/RQE March 4th & 5th was a success!

There were around 7 dogs in the BS on Friday evening and 10 for the Mini-Slam.  $110 pay-out to Mark Bates for the only plus point return, +200 with Shaker.

Saturday had 10 for the BS and 13 dogs in the Nite Hunt!  Can't remember when more came for the NH than BS!  Three Casts came back with plus points, Shaker and Mark (+225), Joseph Melson and Buddy (+150) and Dee Powell with Blitz (+150) split the pot to take home $48 each.  All three are also allowed to go onto the next step towards the World Hunt.

Results will be in Coonhound Bloodlines, and I'll try to get a copy of the Bench Show winners (my notes were too cryptic even for me) posted on Biggame Forums Link below for Biggame.

Pictures have been dumped into Photobucket, follow the link below.

They are in backwards order for whatever reason.

WSCA will miss you, Herb.

Thank you George, Nikki and Bob for attending the meeting tonight!

Since nobody nominated themselves, there was no vote for new officers.  Discussion was made about donating the treasury to a "like club" per the By-Laws.  The only really like club would be MPHC.  MPHC is the only other UKC club within hundreds of miles and they do a load of amazing stuff to promote the image of houndsmen, but they are in Oregon.

The decision was made for WSCA to take a haitus and hold a meeting September 27th, 2010.  Probably in Oregon =)  But since 3/4 of the people attending are in Oregon including the one who would cook, that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Have a safe and beautiful summer.
