February 7, 2009 Play Day
We had a great turn out for the Play Day, thanks to everyone who came out! Nikki explained Bench
Show protocol and all sorts of dogs from tiny pups, to a cur, to old dogs strutted their stuff. Mandy ran an impromptu
coon drag as we waited for chicken to come for dinner. Cut the whole lot of them go at once!
Nikki brought
some delious potato salad and Genny's fiesta cups (the name of which escapes me) were pilfered before dinner started and
gone before it was over! I don't ever remember having more people at a club business meeting...thanks for coming
and staying everyone.
We are going to try running a UKC BS/NH on Fridays and AKC events on the next Saturday
next NH season. Mandy and Nikki have been in touch with AKC and this will give those with Grand dogs another title
and prizes available for all. Hopefully, it will bring in more hounds too. If a dog is UKC, it can be registered
AKC on-line or the day of the event.
Carl is going to be the Field Marshall for this summer's events up at
Matlock. Three hound council approved weekends, one of shich will include UKC events. Dustin is going
to be refered to as Chef 1911 from here on out.
Had 7 dogs registered for the money hunt. It
was decided to make it a 0/100% split, but since no plus points came in, it was a 100/0! No worries, seems
everyone had a good time. At least one cast heeded WSCA president's directive to take a picture before cutting loose....
